Who are RDA?

BUCS TRIALS

When are the trials?

Our trials are over two days:

3rd October: Advanced Observation

(Trentvalley Equestrian Centre)

7th October: Trial Day

(Trentvalley Equestrian Centre)

What do I do at trials?

The first trial is an Advanced Observation. This day is

a more social day, it allows you to get to know the

committee, staff and horses at Trentvalley. This first day will involve riding one horse on the flat and over a few jumps. After the observation all riders deemed to be at an advanced level will be invited to return to trial for the BUCS team if they wish.

Even if you're not sure whether you want to trial or not - you can come along to this observation day to see if you are at advanced level which will allow you to sign up to the weekly advanced lessons.

The second trial day will be much more structured and will allow the instructors to observe your abilities in more detail. The instructors will tell you what to do during the trials it will involve riding two horses through dressage movements

dressage movements and jumping a course of

varying heights.

What if I don't

make the team?

Although it can be disappointing to hear you've not been selected for the BUCS team, there are plenty of other opportunities to get involved in the club.

The advanced level lessons are very constructive and

can really help you improve your riding skills at a high

standard. You will also get chance to compete in

our friendly dressage and showjumping competitions

against Sutton Bonington Riding Club and

other local university equestrian teams.
