BEGINNERS LESSONS
After listening to feedback from
riders and instructors, our beginners
lessons run a bit differently to the other levels.
We heard that instructors were finding it difficult
to progress riders as quickly as they wanted
due to the 'drop in' nature of the lessons. Because
riders could come one week and not the next, they
were improving at different rates and sometimes
being taught things repetitively because others were
not at the same level.
To solve this problem our beginners lessons are now booked in blocks of 4 weeks at a time. After 4 weeks of these lessons you should be confident enough to move up to the pre-novice group, where you can come as often
as you like.
Having the lessons in block bookings means that you
will learn all the basics consistently and make
quicker improvements!
I just want a
one-off ride?
Thats's ok! We understand that not everyone want to commit to four weeks of lessons.
Have a look at our Engage sessions. These are social rides open to all levels - even if you've never ridden before.
The Engage sessions are there for everyone to enjoy and are a great time to relax and meet new people. If
you have never ridden before you will be
accompanied by one of our Engage Co-ordinators
who will help you tack up your horse
as well as the out on
the ride.
What do I wear?
It is most important to wear comfortable clothes
to ride in.
In winter it can get quite cold so wear a jumper or long sleeved top. If you don't have jodhpurs, leggings or stretchy jeans.
Wear flat shoes with a well defined heel and no laces such as Wellington Boots. Trent Valley do have some riding boots you can borrow if you have no suitable shoes.
Riding hats and body protectors are
also available to borrow.
