INCLUSIVE SESSIONS

FOR STUDENTS WITH A DISABILITY OR MENTAL HEALTH CONDITION

Everyone can benefit from riding. We organise inclusive riding sessions for staff and students at the University who have a disability or mental health condition.

For £8 we provide 30 minutes riding and transport to and from the yard.

It's a few hours of not thinking about anything else and relaxing.

Our instructor in the lesson was outstanding

A great opportunity to try something different for just £5!

Visual Description: The video begins on a sunny day with up close shots of the horses at Scropton Riding & Driving Centre. It shows our riders preparing to ride by mounting the horses and adjusting stirrups. The video is titled Inclusive Riding Sessions. The video proceeds to show an Inclusive Riding session taught at Scropton RDA with riders shown walking, trotting and cantering horses on the flat and over poles with the help of volunteers, as well as petting the horses.  ‘Community’ and ‘Freedom’, as well as quotes such as “riding drastically improves my life”, “relaxed, chilled and no judgement” and “it frees me from entrapment” are captioned over the riding footage. The video ends with the riders warming down their horses and dismounting before flashing to our UoN Sport Equestrian logo.

Thank you to Jay Whitehead for the excellent filming and editing. Thank you to all of the riders and volunteers who took part in filming and Scropton Riding & Driving Centre for hosting our Inclusive Riding Sessions.
