TERMS AND CONDITIONS

RIDING & HANDLING HORSES IS A RISK SPORT

 

Your choice to ride is voluntary. You must accept the risk involved. Trent Valley Equestrian centre take all reasonable care to provide suitable and safe horses and instruction for all our members. All animals can be unpredictable.

You are responsible for determining your level of experience and/or suitability however Trent Valley instructors reserve the right to override this decision if necessary for your safety.

 

ALL Members:

-Must have completed a Rider Registration Form before riding a horse. This is done on arrival at Trent Valley Equestrian Centre.
-Must resubmit their Rider Registration Form if their details change.
-We reserve the right to refuse you to ride a particular horse/pony if we feel that the safety of the rider or horse is in question.
-You reserve the right to change to another horse/ pony, providing one is available, and it is practical and safe to do so.

Punctuality and Arrival Times:

-Please arrive promptly to your pick up location or give yourself plenty of time to catch your train. You are solely responsible for your own time management regarding this.

-If drivers are still waiting for passengers 15 minutes after their pick-up time, they reserve the right to leave without members to avoid risk of being late.
-If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will not be allowed to ride.
-All lesson times are subject to change but Club Committee members will inform you of this change in plenty of time.

 

Payments:

-Payment must be made in full by midnight the day before your ride.
-Cancellations can be made but this must be done before 12pm (midday) the day before your ride. If you fail to do so, you must accept our No Refund Policy.
-If you fail to turn up, you will be required to pay in full.

-For Beginner Block lessons, payment must be made in full before the first session and is non-refundable.
-Payment is to be made via the Student Union website, or failing that, you are responsible for arranging cash payment with a Committee member.

 

Bad Weather or Conditions:

-Rides/lessons are rarely cancelled due to inclement weather. Trent Valley reserve the right to cancel riding because of bad weather at any time. Management’s decision is final.

 

Height and weight restrictions:

-It’s a condition of riding that:
-The intended rider has no Medical conditions that require doctors approval.
-The intended rider meets our Height / Weight Guidelines: Maximum Weight 16 Stone.

 

Safety Equipment and Riding Wear:

Riding Helmets:

-Hats (all types): All helmets either supplied by yourself or Trent Valley Equestrian Centre must meet the current standards. As from January 2016 all riders’ own hats must be checked and approved by Trent Valley. They reserve the right to refuse your wearing of a hat if it does not meet current standards.
-Must be worn and fastened at all times while riding a horse.
-Must be worn and fastened at all times while handling a horse.
-Helmets are available to hire (£1 charge) for members.

 

Body Protectors:

-Body protectors are provided to borrow from Trent Valley Equestrian at no cost. Subject to availability.
-Body Protectors are not compulsory but highly recommended. Under 18s are required to wear body protectors.

Riding Footwear:

-Clients must wear appropriate footwear while riding.

-Riding boots are available to hire (free of charge) for members subject to availability.

-We reserve the right to refuse footwear we deem unsafe

 

Horses/Ponies:

-All animals are unpredictable; you must take guidance from yard staff before approaching or handling horses

 

PLEASE NOTE:

-Trent Valley Equestrian Centre and the University of Nottingham Equestrian Club cannot be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss to any persons or their property whilst on these premises or whilst riding.

 

Agreement of Terms:

You must agree to these Terms and Conditions before signing up to ride with us.
